Sowmya is a junior who mainly does LD and Congress, but always loves to reach beyond her comfort zone to try new events! Outside of debate, she runs track and cross country, loves history and medicine, and is in way too many clubs. She originally joined speech and debate in her freshman year to improve her public speaking skills (because she sucks at  talking to people), but it has become a place where she has found her best friends, a platform to speak about her passions, and a community who loves her (and she loves them!). Her favorite tournament memories include getting up early to go to the beach at Long Beach and seeing turkeys on the street at Harvard. She’s learned so much during her time on the S&D team, and she’s very excited to be one of your LD captains this year!
