East Mountain — Top of the World
Saturday, September 28th (9/28)
The first tournament featuring our main Speech & Debate events begins with the East Mountain Top of the World Invitational in Tijeras, New Mexico.
Students compete in their main Speech and/or Debate events in a single-day round-robin style tournament. This means competitors will have FOUR preliminary rounds, and awards will be based on their cumulative performances rather than break into additional elimination rounds.
This is a great first tournament for novices new to their events!
This is also one of four total local Speech/Debate tournaments available during the Fall Semester, so we strongly encourage signing up.
If you would like to get additional practice before this tournament, consider signing up for one of the NSDA Springboard Scrimmages on a Tuesday or Thursday (online) first.
Specific event information, schedule, and the tournament invitation are available via the Tabroom.com link:
Registration is due no later than Wednesday, 9/18 at 5:00pm.
If this is your first tournament, please complete all of the following tasks BEFORE registering: Before Your First Tournament
Schedule Considerations
No school will be missed as this is a one-day round-robin style tournament on a Saturday (4 prelims with awards based on preliminary performances rather than advancing to elimination rounds)
There is an Ex-Ed River Trip for Ex-Ed students this same weekend.
Tournament falls during the same weekend as Long Beach (the first nat circ travel tournament of the season).
