Rosa joined speech and debate in the tenth grade because her friend needed a partner. What started as a favor for a friend transformed into one of the most important experiences of her high school career, learning to be confident in her voice and community. Her primary event is policy debate, and high she competes in with her partner William, although she wants to diversify her record this year and try Duo Interp. Some of her favorite memories are the times she’s spent hanging out with her team between rounds at various tournaments. This year, she’s excited to help others harness their voices as captain of miscellaneous and supplemental debate events including CX, XDB, and WSD.
